Short Reviews of RiffTrax Shorts: Emergencies - What Would You Do?

It's Short Reviews of RiffTrax Shorts, our new series where the title is almost as long as the actual reviews!  We are going to take a look at every RiffTrax Short in the catalog, and write a very brief review on them all.

RiffTrax Shorts: Emergencies - What Would You Do?

What would you do if a little child ate bleach powder?  Do you know what you would do if you fell off a dock when you can't swim and there are plenty of adults nearby?  How about if you were out to dinner and some shady guy was following around a teenage girl?  Wait, I'm thinking of What Would You Do? with John QuiƱones.

Anyway, Emergencies - What Would You Do? sets out to give a few examples of what you should do when one of your friends decides to shake hands with danger.

The main thing I noticed about this Short is the emotion behind everything.  Either the people show no emotion, or it's the wrong one.  The narrator is too happy, the bleach eater, her mother, and her friend have zero emotion about the situation, and an adult is a bit too happy to see his house burning down.

I think the kids this was made for would even have laughed at this one.  It's not as bad as some other safety shorts have been—like Danger Keep Out! or Live and Learn—but it isn't good by any means.

The guys really sounded like they were having a good time while recording this one, and that always adds to my enjoyment.

This one was an enjoyable first watch, but it's not quite at the level of some of the aforementioned safety shorts.

That being said, you should still buy and watch it.

Emergencies - What Would You Do? gets four dropped dolls out of five.
