It's that time of year again! E3 is in full swing, and lots of good games have already been announced.
Nintendo's big presentation is tomorrow at 12 PM EST, and speculation is rampant around the internet about what we are going to see from them. As always, there have been numerous fake leaks pertaining to Nintendo, but there are a few that have all been proven to be real.
After a long conversation with my buddy Andrew, I am finally ready to post my predictions and personal (and highly improbable) wish list!
Super Mario Odyssey DLC - Not the rumored Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi DLC (they aren't going to add 400 more moons to the game), but I think there will be something. Maybe free DLC like how they added Luigi's Balloon World, or maybe a paid DLC with a new world and a new playable character (Peach perhaps).
Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion - We will get a date for this, and it might be sooner than we are expecting. There have been a lot of hands-on impressions over the past few weeks, so while it would make sense to release this DLC on 8/8/18, we could very well get it as soon as this week(although, they might not want to put this out right before...)
Mario Tennis Aces - We will get one last brief look at this game, which comes out next week.
Yoshi - We will probably get a new trailer for this game, and we will learn the actual full title.
Metroid Prime 4 - Teased last year, I think we will probably see an actual trailer this year.
Super Smash Bros. - We already know we are getting a bunch of this. I'm guessing ten to fifteen minutes of the reported forty-five minute presentation will be dedicated to this. I'm also going to say it is indeed a new game, and not just a port of the Wii U/3DS title.
Dark Souls Remastered - We might get an actual date for the online stress test.
Bayonetta 3 - Maybe a new trailer and release date.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes - Possibly a new trailer that gives us a release date.
Spyro Trilogy - We are already getting the Crash Bandicoot trilogy, so this one does not seem out of the realm of possibility.
Minecraft - A reminder of the update on June 21 (along with the physical version) that gives us cross play with Xbox and PC players.
Fortnite - This is one of the bigger rumors that has the most weight behind it. Data miners have apparently found an update for the title sitting on the eShop, as well as a logo. This title was also on a list of six third party games that was "leaked" for the presentation, along with another game that they found an eShop update for, and that title was announced shortly thereafter. That game is...
Paladins - The game that is comparable to Overwatch (though it was supposedly in development well before Overwatch). This game was announced last week (after the leaked update), and will actually be available tomorrow... as long as you buy the Founder Pack. The regular F2P version will be out later this summer. I expect they will just show the same trailer.
Dragon Ball FighterZ - This game was on the same leaked list as the last two titles. It was also made by the same developers as Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, a game already out on the Switch. Blazblue runs very well on the Switch, even if the graphics have been scaled back a bit. I have a feeling they could do the same with FighterZ, and get the same result. I would be perfectly fine with this.
Nintendo Switch Online Service - I think we will get some more information about the "classic games" aspect of this service. We need to know something!
Mystery Wii U Port - This is almost guaranteed to happen. Maybe even a Pikmin three pack?
Indy/Third Party Developer Sizzle Reel - This is going to happen, and will probably bring us at least two surprises. This might be where we see confirmation of Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Crazy Wish List
Animal Crossing Switch - With the release and subsequent popularity of Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, now would be the perfect time to show off a new proper Animal Crossing game for the Switch.
Fallout 3 Anniversary - Bethesda talked about the tenth anniversary of Fallout 3 during their E3 presentation, but didn't say anything about an "Anniversary Edition", but that doesn't mean it won't be a surprise today.
Pikmin 4 - It's just time for it to happen on the Switch.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC - I don't think we will get any more content for this game, but it would be awesome if we did. I still want that alien invasion!
The Legend of Zelda New Title Announcement - A title tease like we got with Metroid Prime 4 last year. Out 2020.
Any Kingdom Hearts titles - Even if it's the remastered collections. I just want something Kingdom Hearts.
Burnout Paradise Remaster - Loved this game. Would be awesome on the Switch. Hell, just port the regular version of the game. I'd buy it.
Jump Force - I just want to play it.
Whatever we get, it's going to be hard for them to top last year. I do expect that to happen though.
