HMM '16: RiffTrax Halloween Marathon Playlist

Last year, I made my RiffTrax Halloween Marathon Playlist.  It was received so well, I decided to do it again this year!

This year's playlist would run just shy of four hours, and every last minute of it is well worth the time!

Kicking things off is the short that is literally perfect for Halloween.  It's right there in the title.  I almost thought it might be a little too on the nose, but this riff is so good, I had to include it (also, this short is the only remnant from the RiffTrax Live Anaconda show).

This short has everything you need to get into that Halloween mood: paper bag masks, a mean dog, a lady scarecrow, and a kid in a mask that is, well, let's just call it racially insensitive.  Halloween!

Tourist Trap is a movie where Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors (The Rifleman) plays a telekinetic murderer who turns people into mannequins.

Do you really need to know anything else?  This movie is weird and creepy.

And the perfect fit for this playlist!

How can a short film that takes place during Hanukkah be included in a Halloween playlist?

If you've already seen Zlateh, you know exactly why.

And if not, you need to just trust me on this.  There is a scene in here that is one of the most horrifying thing ever put to film.  That includes THE TAIL!

This is a TV movie about Dracula (played by Judd Hirsch) and his monster friends trying to save Halloween from a witch who won't ride over the moon.  If she doesn't fly over the moon, there can be no Halloween.  Because why not?

Also, this movie ends with everyone disco dancing.  I'm not kidding.  I mean, I'm sorry about the spoilers here, but I had to tell you about that.

Ruby is the gemstone in the crown that the Queen of Weird wears upon her bizarre head.  Trying to explain this movie is like trying to explain what the number yellow tastes like.  You can't do it.  And no, it doesn't taste like lemon or banana.

This movie is one part The Exorcist, one part Lifetime Original Movie, one part Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and one part Unsolved Mysteries (the episodes with Dennis Farina hosting). It all adds up to what is my favorite riff of 2016.

There you have it!  My RiffTrax Halloween Marathon Playlist 2016.

Put out those snacks and invite all your friends to come over,  It's time for RiffTrax.
