Bottom Shelf Mixology Rejects: Bad Movies, Worse Drinks Pt. 1

Welcome to Bottom Shelf Mixology™!  Our staff of Mixologists have racked their brains (and livers) to come up with special "bottom shelf" versions of popular drinks, and some original creations that range from "oh, that might be interesting" to "that sounds absolutely disgusting".

Lately, I have been watching gobs of RiffTrax and Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes.  I started thinking about the potential of making some BSM recipes themed around some of these movies and shorts that I have been watching.  Then I realized that these films didn't deserve drinkable recipes.  These films are rejects, and deserve drinks that are down on their level.

Welcome to part one of Bad Movies, Worse Drinks.

RiffTrax Live: Manos The Hands of FateBloody Torgo (Inspired by "Manos" The Hands of Fate)
  • 4 oz Pizza Sauce
  • 2 oz Crystal Palace Vodka
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Crazy Bread
Slowly pour the pizza sauce into your glass.  Then slowly add the vodka.  Stir it as slow as you possibly can for two minutes.

Gently sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top of the drink, and garnish with a stick of crazy bread.

Sip, don't chug!  The Master does not approve of chugging, of chugging.

RiffTrax: Zindy the Swamp Boy Zindy's Swamp Water (Inspired by Zindy the Swamp Boy)
  • 2 oz El Matador Tequila
  • 6 oz Flint Water
Simply mix the fresh Flint water with the tequila, and enjoy.

What happens to your stomach still won't be as depressing as the movie.

The Brut Man (Inspired by The Brute Man)
  • 3 oz Brut Natural Champagne
  • 2 oz Brigadier Gin
  • 1/8 tsp Powdered Lemonade Drink Mix
  • 4 Sugar Packets
  • 1 spray Brut Cologne
Start by putting the drink mix and sugar in the glass.  Pour in the champagne and gin, and stir vigorously, like you are mad about some way the drink wronged you in the past.

Finish off the drink with a spritz of the cologne.
