Nintendo Direct April 1, 2015 - Serious Business

Yes, Nintendo picked April Fool's Day to give us a new Nintendo Direct video, but they have promised that they aren't joking around.  The Direct is slated to start at 6 PM EST, and you will be able to watch the stream (or read my live blogging of the stream if you can not watch it) right here.

The live blog of the Direct will be below.  I'm guessing we will get some information on the second DLC package for Mario Kart 8, some amiibo news, a look at Xenoblade Chronicles (it comes out next week, after all), and some news on Xenoblade Chronicles X.

To start things off, we are getting our first in-game look at MewTwo! Mr. Iwata is out to talk about MewTwo being released on April 28 for $3.99 for the 3DS OR the Wii U version and $4.99 for both versions (for those who don't get it for free through the Club Nintendo promo.

They are also adding a bunch of new costumes for Mii Fighters from Mega Man, Xenoblade Chronicles, and a whole lot more...

AND LUCAS!!!  Lucas is coming to Super Smash Bros. as DLC.  Lucas will be available in June.

And Nintendo wants to know who you want to show up next as DLC for Smash!  The ballot will be available when this Direct is finished!

amiibos of MewTwo and Lucas will also be coming!

Next, we get more amiibo news: amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Hits.  This is the demo play based around amiibos program we've heard about.  Your amiibos will unlock a random NES or SNES game scene.  Available this Spring for free on the Wii U.

A video is shown for Mario Maker, and it is to celebrate thirty years of Super Mario Bros.  Going through some Mario Maker news, we are told we can switch between four version of Super Mario: The original, Super Mario Bros. 3, Muper Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros.

Mario Maker will be available in September.

News on Yoshi's Wolly World.  There are two game modes: Classic and Mellow.  Classic will be hard like the old Yoshi's Island, and Mellow mode lets you play at any skill level.

YARN YOSHI AMIIBOS ARE COMING!!! Actually made out of yarn!  So cute!

On to Splatoon now.  Two more modes are shown: Ranked Battle and Battle Dojo.  Battle Dojo is a 1 vs 1 local multiplayer.  Splatoon amiibos are also shown.  They will be a three pack available on the same day as the game's released.

Virtual Console news for once!  N64 and Nintendo DS games are coming to the Wii U!  Yoshi's Island DS and Super Mario 64 will be available after the Direct, with a lot more on the way soon.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is coming to WIi U this summer!  I'm excited for this!

Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is coming to Wii U and 3DS with cross-buy.  Also, if you own the first game, you will get a discount.

Don't Starve: Giant Edition is also coming to Wii U, with a bonus copy for people who buy it to give to friends.

I know I missed some games here, this is going too fast for how excited this news is.

The first trailer for Shin Megami Tensai X Fire Emblen!  Looks AWESOME!  More news coming soon.

The newest Fatal Frame game IS COMING TO THE US! This year!!

Box Boy is being shown next, and will be available tomorrow.

Pokemon Rumble World is announced, and it is a F2P game.  Available next week, on April 8.

The full version of Puzzle & Dragons Z and Puzzle & Mario is up next.  This differs from the F2P versions because there are no in-game purchases.  You buy the game, and you get the whole thing.

The next 3DS title being shown is the Attack on Titan game!  It comes out in the US next month!

Some Codename: S.T.E.A.M. news announced, including the announcement that more Marth amiibos are coming!

Two new StreetPass games are announced!  Ultimate Angler and Battleground Z!  A fishing game and a zombie killing action game!  These new StreetPass games looks awesome.  Also coming is StreetPass Mii Plaza Premium, giving you the ability to make more in-detail Mii stuff.  Coming April 16.

A new trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is shown, and it looks great.  Out April 10.

Some new info on the next Fire Emblem game next, including the fact that the character you create being the main character for the game.  A new trailer is shown, and it shows some of the choices you making changes to the game.  Also new to this game: feet.  There are actually two seperate stories depending on who you choose to side with.

A new Animal Crossing game is coming to the 3DS: Happy Home Designer.  This game will use amiibo cards.  These cards remind me of the eReader.

The amiibo scanner for the OG 3DS will be out this fall.

We are closing this Direct with news on the Mario Kart 8 DLC pack 2!  We get to see the Animal Crossing course, and two new vehicles: a beetle car and a scooter.  The seasons in the course will be different each time you play.

And it isn't coming in May any more, it's coming April 23!

New Mii racer amiibo costumes are also coming, including a costume for Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac-Man.

One more new announcement for Mario Kart 8: a new 200cc class!  This will be a free update on the same day the DLC comes out.  It looks so fast!

That wraps up the Direct!  Once again, Nintendo knocks it out of the park!
