Bottom Shelf Mixology: Government Mule

Welcome to Bottom Shelf Mixology!  Our staff of Mixologists have racked their brains (and livers) to come up with special "bottom shelf" versions of popular drinks, and some original creations that range from "oh, that might be interesting" to "that sounds absolutely disgusting".

Government Mule
  • 2 oz Popov Vodka
  • 1 can generic store brand Ginger Ale
  • 1 lime Popsicle
Pour the vodka into your glass. Stick the Popsicle in the glass, and let it melt into the vodka. Once the Popsicle is approximately halfway melted, pour in the ginger ale.

Keep the rest of the Popsicle in the glass for your garnish.

Enjoy along with some videos from Meanwhile in Russia.

Fight the Empire's High Scores With Star Wars Rebels Pinball Table

This week brings us the eleventh Star Wars Pinball table with the release of Star Wars Rebels.  Now, I don't have Disney XD, so I haven't seen any of this show yet, but this table looks pretty good (if nothing else, it's gotta be better than the table for The Empire Strikes Back).

The table is available today (April 28) for PSN, for Steam and Xbox 360 on April 29, and April 30 for Xbox One, iOS, Android, Amazon, and Wii U.

You can read the press release below.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Officially Revealed!

The last Call of Duty game I really enjoyed was Black Ops II.  In face, I still play it on my Wii U.  Ghosts was okay, and I never really had the desire to try Advanced Warfare.  While Black Ops III is going futuristic in the same vein as Advanced Warfare, this one gets me excited.  That is a shame, really, because I will not be able to enjoy this one.

Anyway, check out the trailer.

Bottom Shelf Mixology: Dead Last

Welcome to Bottom Shelf Mixology!  Our staff of Mixologists have racked their brains (and livers) to come up with special "bottom shelf" versions of popular drinks, and some original creations that range from "oh, that might be interesting" to "that sounds absolutely disgusting".

The Kentucky Derby is right around the corner, and to celebrate, we thought we would give you the BS version of the official drink of Kentucky: the Mint Julep.

Dead Last
  • 3 oz Heaven Hill Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey
  • 2 Spearmint Altoids, crushed
  • Ice
  • 3 Sweet'N Low packets
  • 1 Piece Trident Spearmint Gum
Start by putting the Sweet'N Low and crushed Altoids in the glass.  Fill the glass with ice, then add the bourbon.  Stir.

Garnish the glass with the stick of gum.

Enjoy this version of the official drink of horse racing while you lose all of your money by betting on the long shot.

New Ant-Man Trailer Shows Off Toy Trains

I really like the entirety of this trailer for Ant-Man, but the part that sells me on the movie one hundred percent is the bit at the end with Thomas the Tank Engine.  I mean, I am still unsure as to how this will work, but I do know that it will indeed work.

Bottom Shelf Mixology: Rejected Easter Drinks

Welcome to Bottom Shelf Mixology!  Our staff of Mixologists have racked their brains (and livers) to come up with special "bottom shelf" versions of popular drinks, and some original creations that range from "oh, that might be interesting" to "that sounds absolutely disgusting".

It's almost Easter, so we spent some time trying to come up with an Easter-themed drink.  We would have done something with Cadbury Eggs, but we already made a drink from them (back when there was all of the hubbub over the chocolate recipe being changed): Cadbury Eggnog.

In the process of trying to come up with a new drink, we ended up coming up with three wonderfully terrible recipes.

I give you our three rejected Easter drinks.

Nintendo Direct April 1, 2015 - Serious Business

Yes, Nintendo picked April Fool's Day to give us a new Nintendo Direct video, but they have promised that they aren't joking around.  The Direct is slated to start at 6 PM EST, and you will be able to watch the stream (or read my live blogging of the stream if you can not watch it) right here.

The live blog of the Direct will be below.  I'm guessing we will get some information on the second DLC package for Mario Kart 8, some amiibo news, a look at Xenoblade Chronicles (it comes out next week, after all), and some news on Xenoblade Chronicles X.
