HMM '13: Critters 4

It's October!  The doorway to not only the start of the greatest food season (early October to Christmas), but also to sexy nurses, zombies, and grown men dressing up like ponies.  That also means it is time once again for Halloween Movie Madness!  This year, I'll be taking a look back at the movies of my youth.  Every movie this year was released before I turned eighteen.  These are the Halloween movies that shaped me into the man I am today.  Some of them are scary.  Some are funny.  Some are fantastical.  Some are just weird.  And not all of them are good.  But to me, they are all Halloween movies.  Now, stand back, for your own safety!

Grab your leather jackets, strap on some skis, and practice your best “EEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYY”, because we are going to jump the shark.  Get ready for CRIIIIITEEEEESSSSSS IIIIIIIINNNNNNN SSSSSSPPPAAAAAAACCEEEEEEEEE.

Yes, the series that, admittedly, starts out in space, goes back for the final leg of the adventure.  Of course, simply going into space has been done in the series so they had to up the ante.  This is accomplished by also going into the future!  See, at the end of Critters 3, our drunk turned hero Charlie finds and prepares to destroy the last two crite eggs in the galaxy.  Before he can do so, he gets a message from bounty hunter Ug, who tells him that even though the crites are evil, they are forbidden from causing their extinction.  Ug says a specimen receptacle pod is on the way, and Charlie needs to place the eggs inside.  Charlie does so, and also becomes locked in the specimen receptacle pod.  He is apparently placed into a stasis sleep, because the next time we see the specimen receptacle pod, it is floating through space in the year 2049.

The majority of the movie takes place on a space ship, and there are only two crites for most of the  movie.  Hell, we don’t even see the crites at all until more than thirty minutes have passed.

That’s not to say people don’t die, because only three people out of the whole cast make it out alive.

At first, it might seem strange to have this movie set in space, but it is a movie about aliens.  And the first two movies in the series both started out in space, so I guess there is that.  The obvious reason as to why this was in space was to save some cash on the budget.  Only need to build a handful of sets for the interior, and you are good to go.

As far as it goes, it's better than Leprechaun 4(also set in space).  To me it is also better Critters 3, but that doesn’t say a lot for it.  Of course, me being the glutton for punishment that I am, I like this movie.  This is actually like the tenth time I’ve watched it.

How many times will you watch today's Gifs Without Context

Tomorrow, we finally get to move on to a movie that does not include little evil furballs: Once Bitten
