I Made Betty Crocker Cotton Candy Cookies (And Didn't Fail)

While wandering through Target on Friday (and buying way more crap than we needed), I stumbled across a cookie mix and can of frosting that I decided I couldn't live without.

And now you see why!  Cotton Candy cookie mix and frosting.  I've always been a sucker for cotton candy flavored stuff, so buying this was a no-brainer.  I only had two questions about the whole thing: Would I be able to make these without burning them, and would they taste as good as I was imagining them?

I knew right off the bat that I wasn't going to make them in any kind of shape other than roundish.  This was mostly because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of rolling the dough out.  I'm sorry, it was eighty nine degrees out and I already had to deal with the oven being on.

I opened up the bag and took a big whiff.  I was assaulted by the surprisingly strong odor of cotton candy, and I was already in heaven.  When I dumped the mix into the bowl, I saw what I thought was going to be a bad omen.

When I saw the powder skull , I immediately started to get worried.  I thought I was going to stuff this up for sure.  Then, I wised up and enlisted some help.

Yes, Itchy came downstairs and helped save the day.  She was very enthusiastic about the whole thing, because she was finally getting her chance to help.

She even helped make sure I didn't burn the first batch I put in before asking for help.  Such a sweet little crab louse.

I am compelled to tell you that I had an amazing typo in that last sentence: Suck a sweet little crab louse.  It was so great that I had to keep it around somewhere.

She even stood guard over the cookies while they cooled.  Can't have anyone burning themselves on hot cookies!

After they cooled down, I was able to frost them.  Then everyone started eating them right away, and I only have a couple left.  And there is a good reason for that too.  That's because they taste fantastic.  They smell fantastic too.  The whole downstairs still smells like cotton candy.  It's making my mouth water.  If it wasn't so late, I would totally go eat another one.  Even though I already had three.

Folks, if you like cotton candy, and if you like cookies, go to Target and find this mix!  I'm sure it is heaps better than those Watermelon Oreo cookies.
