Today's Nintendo Direct was focused around games coming out this Spring and Summer. However, there were a few SEGA related announcements, including a new Nintendo exclusive Sonic game, a new Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, and a boatload of new Game Gear titles coming to the 3DS.
This is followed up by some 3DS news, like the fact that for the first three weeks after release, the two Legend of Zelda Oracle games will be on sale for $4.99 each, so you can get both games for a bit under $10.
We got a bit of Resident Evil: Revelations for the Wii U. Don't forget about the demo!
New Super Luigi U DLC news: If you play multiplayer, you will have Luigi, Blue Toad, Yellow Toad, and Nabbit! Nabbit is OP, as he doesn't take damage. The DLC will be out on June 20. And they will also be releasing it as a STAND ALONE! $19.99 for the DLC, $29.99 for the retail version with the awesome green box art!
Also, Wonderful 101 will be available September 15.
Instead of Olimar in Pikmin 3, there are three new characters, and they are looking for food to take back to their staving planet. You can use the GamePad, which will be similar to the GameCube versions, or you can use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. And you can play the game on the GamePad, even if you want to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Pikmin 3 comes out on August 4.
Nintendo is going to focus on the games this year at E3, and so they are also going to focus on making E3 "for the people". This means they will be partnering with Best Buy and allowing you to play the demos they show off at E3, even if you can't go to E3! Not as good as letting us download the demos in our own home, but this way, the demos are out in the wild for people who aren't Wii U owners to also enjoy.
And that's it. No major announcements, although none were expected due to the nature of this Direct, but we should expect the one just before E3 to be loaded.
