Now Scribblenauts Unlimited is here for the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and PC. In the Wii U and PC versions, you have the ability to create any object that you want. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be available in the 3DS version. While that is a disappointment, This game is quickly becoming one of my favorite games for the 3DS.
New this time around are an actual story that features Maxwell and his forty-one siblings, a type of open world environment, and the ability to add adjectives to objects already in the game world.
Now, I have only been playing the game for a short time, but here is a list of some of the things I have done so far that have caused me to fall in love with the game so much:
Now, I have only been playing the game for a short time, but here is a list of some of the things I have done so far that have caused me to fall in love with the game so much:
- Destroyed a rampaging heart with a laser gun.
- Found a lonely cockroach. Made it a friend. Suddenly had a screen full of cockroaches. Spawned an exterminator who was quickly overpowered and killed. Dropped a nuke. Everything nearby died, but the cockroaches were fine. I started glowing green.
- Talked to Shoggoth who asked for a mirror to see what it looked like. It screamed in terror and the mirror shattered.
- Put a human liver into a cooler for the person who was supposed to be delivering. The mission name that popped up after I completed it? "What's in the box?"
- Freed one of Maxwell's brothers from being tied to a cement block at the bottom of a spillway.
- Hit a mime in the face with a pie to make a sad clown laugh again.
And that's only in the first twenty minutes!
Another thing to note is the fact that all of the game's action takes place on the bottom screen. The top screen shows your current location and mission goals. In these instances, there is no 3D. Yes, 5thCell did not shoehorn 3D up there for no reason other than to have it. This makes me very happy. There is a little bit of 3D, like during the opening story cutscene, but so far, that's it.
Enough blabbing, I need to dive back in to this amazing game!
