First up: cheap whiskeys found on the bottom shelf at Meijer(ten brands in all). With ten months of research behind this, I will be judging each whiskey one at a time.
Cheapest of the cheap was Fleischmann's Whiskey. This whiskey exemplifies "you get what you pay for".
Using a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being barely drinkable and 5 as good as it gets, this is my humble opinion.
Taste: A solid 1 - This is a wrenching gut grabber.
Cost: 4 - If they gave it away free it would be a 5.
Packaging: 5 Yes, it actually comes in a glass bottle. This is a very good thing, because it would eat through a plastic container!
Effects: 3 - Good enough I think for the money.
Mix-ability: Dominates what ever you mix it with. Caution: Never drink Fleischmans straight!!!
Final comments: Suitable as a house warming gift to a bum who has just got a new refrigerator box for a home.
Next time: THE Northern Lights.
Later from Bottom Shelf Russ.
Things are looking up!
